Ne-Yo Designs T-Shirt For Japanese Disaster Relief
Mar 31st
R&B star Ne-Yo has become the latest celebrity to offer his services to the relief effort in Japan – he has created a line of charity T-shirts to raise funds for the survivors of this month’s earthquake and tsunami disasters. The So Sick hit-maker is following in the footsteps of his music peers Snoop Dogg, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, and Solange Knowles by designing a special shirt to benefit relief organizations helping the Japanese clean up after the natural disasters.
Ne-Yo’s T-shirts feature the message ‘Spread love with music’, with a big heart and music notes drawn in marker pen alongside his autograph. He says, “You can absolutely spread love through music, and I think that’s what’s called for in this time of crisis.”
The shirts are being sold on the singer’s website for $10 each.

Hank Azaria and James Marsden Joining Will Sasso in ‘Three Stooges’?
Mar 28th

So far it’s been a wild parade of stars lining up for their chance to poke, prod, and eyeball-doink each other to hilarious effect in Peter and Bobby Farrelly’s spiffy new rendition of “The Three Stooges.” Everyone from Sean Penn to Johnny Knoxville has been in the running so far, and we’ll wager even Lindsay Lohan had an audition as Moe at one point.
The Farrellys have noted in the past their intent to cast one person first and then build the rest of the trio of Moe, Larry, and Curly around that individual. Now, in a glorious case of casting to-type, Canadian cueball Will Sasso seems to be their man as Deadline reports that MADtv’s James Gandolfini lookalike will now whack dudes in the head with his hand or heavy objects as Curly Howard, as opposed to just having them whacked as Tony Soprano.
The report also drops some bombs about who will likely fill out the marquee alongside Sasso, including fellow TV vet Hank Azaria who’s spent the last 20-odd years as psychotic bartender Moe on “The Simpsons” and is in line to play… Moe. This is a brilliant choice as Azaria has proven his zeal when it comes to physical slapstick in movies like “The Birdcage,” and will get a fair share of lumps chasing little blue Belgians around New York this summer as Gargamel in “The Smurfs.”
Dead-on as those choices are, the supposed frontrunner for Larry is COMPLETELY out of left field… Cyclops himself, James Marsden! Yes, we know he’s brought the funny to flicks like “Hairspray” and “Enchanted,” but this is tantamount to casting Tom Cruise as Groucho Marx. Still, perhaps the Farrellys know something we don’t… We’ll know by the end of next week, but until then check out Azaria describing the famous “Three Stooges Syndrome” in this clip from “The Simpsons.”

Before They Were Famous: Jon Hamm In ‘Space Cowboys’

Nailing a memorable character like Don Draper in “Mad Men” can be a double-edged sword for actors. While those roles come once in a lifetime, the actor risks getting pigeonholed as that character for the rest of his or her career. To offset that, Jon Hamm has smartly made eclectic choices when it comes to movie roles, with differing fare like the religious comedy ”The Ten,” the heist flick ”The Town” and now the action-fantasy ”Sucker Punch.” It all started, though, with “Space Cowboys.”
In 1992, Hamm traveled to Hollywood for a visit with longtime pal, Paul Rudd, then a struggling Bat Mitzvah DJ. The trip inspired him to pursue acting and he moved to the City of Angels three years later, but despite representation from industry giant William Morris Agency, he found it nearly impossible to find work because he did not look his age. (As evidenced by the video below, Hamm has looked like a strapping 30-something for the last 15 years.)
After getting dropped by William Morris, Hamm gave himself until the age of 30 to get an acting role or he’d move back to St. Louis. A year before his deadline, he earned a part on the NBC drama series, “Providence,” an uncredited cameo in “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” and one line in the 2000 over-the-hill astronaut comedy ”Space Cowboys,” starring Clint Eastwood and Tommy Lee Jones.
After that, what would become the signature Draper smirk began winning Jon Hamm roles in films such as “Kissing Jessica Stein,” (2001), “We Were Soldiers” (2002) and “Ira and Abby” (2006).
If you saw “Space Cowboys” around the time of its release, don’t be surprised if you don’t remember Hamm’s role as Young Pilot #2. It’s a forgettable scene. However, if you’ve caught the movie channel-surfing recently, you no doubt recognized him immediately.
