Paris Hilton Furious After Fierce Criticism Of Her New Show During Her Interview On ‘The View’ (Video)

Paris Hilton was reportedly left fuming after a tense interview on American talk show The View this week as she was forced to defend her latest reality TV show amid fierce criticism of the “fluffy” and “frivolous” lifestyle she portrays onscreen. The socialite has returned to TV with a new fly-on-the-wall series called The World According To Paris and she appeared on the popular panel show on Wednesday to plug her project.
However, she came under fire from host Whoopi Goldberg, who criticized Hilton for showing herself shopping in the first episode, telling Hilton, “Why would you show them you shopping? Do you not think it make you seem a bit fluffy?” Hilton replied, “That’s just a small part of the show, the show shows a lot more than just shopping.”
Barbara Walters was next to take aim, slamming the hotel heiress for filming the show from such a “frivolous point of view”. She went on to criticise Hilton for scenes in which she was shown complaining about her community service duties, which she has been carrying out as part of a plea deal stemming from a drug arrest last year.
Hilton insisted she “does charity work all the time” and maintained she was joking about her community service, adding, “When I’m on the show it’s supposed to be entertaining and funny, so I’ll make silly little jokes. It doesn’t mean I’m serious.. I just like to joke around.”
Hilton is said to have been furious about the tone of the interview and allegedly confronted one of the producers after the show was over, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six. She subsequently cancelled a number of other interviews and press appointments scheduled for the next day, with a representative for the star revealing she had fallen sick. The rep says in a statement, “The decision was made by her management to reschedule two things that were not time-sensitive on Thursday.” Paris’ new show premiered June 1st on the Oxygen network.
Paris Hilton Feels For Troubled Brooke Mueller

Socialite Paris Hilton sympathises with her troubled friend Brooke Mueller, because Charlie Sheen’s estranged wife faces a “daily struggle” to conquer her years of addiction issues. Mueller’s personal life has been in and out of headlines since Christmas 2009, when a heated dispute with Sheen left the actor facing domestic abuse allegations.
They are currently in the midst of divorce proceedings, but relations turned nasty again earlier this year as Sheen embarked on a media blitz following his firing from hit TV comedy Two and a Half Men. Mueller was filming appearances for Hilton’s new reality show The World According to Paris as the drama unfolded, and the hotel heiress admits it was difficult to watch her pal suffer so publicly.
Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday, Hilton said, “You know, it was a lot of things going on during that whole Charlie thing during the show and I think she was going through a lot.” Mueller has since turned to professionals to help her overcome substance abuse problems, which Hilton claims began when her pal was in her teens.
Hilton continues, “Right now she’s in treatment and I’m wishing her the best. She’s going through a lot. “It has (been hard to see). It’s definitely been something that she has been struggling with since her teen years and it’s a daily struggle.”
Paris Hilton Apologizes To Lindsay Lohan For Joke About Stealing Jewelry

Paris Hilton has publicly apologized to her former pal Lindsay Lohan after poking fun at the actress’ latest legal woes on her new reality TV show. Lohan stands accused of stealing a necklace from a California jewelry store back in January. She has pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor, but was sentenced to 120 days in jail and 480 hours of community service last month after a judge ruled her arrest on the charge broke the terms of her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI case.
The Mean Girls star’s troubles became a talking point this week when a clip from Hilton’s new program, The World According to Paris, hit the internet. In the footage, Hilton is heard making a joke about Lohan’s problems as she visits a homeless shelter and hands over a pair of earrings to one woman, who mistakes her for the troubled star.
The woman tells Hilton, “I’m going to give them to my sister as soon as I get back to Oklahoma and I’m going to tell them that Lindsay (gave them to me)… I thought you were supposed to be in rehab?” Realizing the identity mix-up, Hilton responded, “I’m not Lindsay!” before joking about Lohan and adding in a voiceover: “If I were Lindsay, I’d be stealing the earrings, not giving them away.”
But now the hotel heiress has seen the error of her ways and apologized for the comments, telling TMZ.com, “I apologize to Lindsay for the comment that I made. I was joking around but it was thoughtless and unnecessary… I am reaching out to Lindsay so I can tell her myself.”
Nicky Hilton Donating Proceeds From Bracelet She Designed To MS

Designer Nicky Hilton is donating all proceeds from a piece of her jewelry collection to a multiple sclerosis charity. The creative star and her socialite sister Paris Hilton have been involved in benefits and fundraisers for the cause since 2004, when they lost their beloved grandmother Marilyn to the debilitating condition, which attacks the brain and spinal cord.
Last week, the siblings teamed up to attract bids at the Race to Erase MS gala’s silent auction by offering up an invitation to join them on a shopping trip. Now Nicky is helping to boost funds for the organization, which is part of the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis, by pledging to donate profits from the sale of the Nicky Hilton Bypass Spike Bangle. The silver cuff bracelet, which features crystal-decorated spikes on each end, retails for $200.
Paris Hilton Burglar Charged With Felony

A man accused of attempting to break into Paris Hilton’s Hollywood Hills home last summer has been charged with a felony count of attempted residential burglary. Nathan Lee Parada, 31, faces three years behind bars when he is sentenced in June.
Hilton was at home when knife-wielding Parada attempted to break-in; her boyfriend Cy Waits, who was with the socialite at the time, confronted and apprehended him until police arrived and took the potential burglar into custody.
Hilton went to court to testify against Parada on Wednesday. Outside the courthouse in Van Nuys, Waits was attacked by another man, James Rainford, who has since been sentenced to serve 227 days behind bars, and ordered to stay away from Hilton and Waits after his release.
